Please use this thread - http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=628463 to discuss anything relating to the topic, or to find out who else is submitting a photo on your "team" so you can privatly chat for ideas, or whatever. But do not talk to other team members, or judges about photos. Or if you PM me, or let me know in the other thread, I can create a list of team members in this post so you have an idea of who is on your "team"

This is a small barn thing, built and used by Amish, it was a really bad day for taking pictures, I shot it form my car window, while stopped in the middle of a small highway...

My Effort, and I have not heard from the rest of the XTi/400D team.
What was I thinking, well I like the lacy look of the tower openings and windows, left it uncropped 'cos it looks like the church itself is shining out of, sandwiched between, two dark places.

There is some lens distortion due to the fact I had to a void a dirty fat black hanging cable, so got in closer than I would have liked. I'm no good at Photoshop so this was pped in DPP

It's been a mental week so I was out from the beginning. I did manage to grab this, this morning.
Consider it a non submission or an honourable mention. ;)

Here are my top 3

Not knowing what the rest of the building looks like, I will assume the architect wanted to create a grand entrance to this building. This photo captured that.
2. kiwichris
Hard to crop this photo with what looks like an addition to the church after the original construction and the house on the right. I really like this building. As someone who has been involved in construction for 18 years, I can appreciate what went into building this church.
3. Goingcarcrazy
I love lighthouse photos. Would like to see more lighting, but still a nice shot!

Good to see my pic getting some votes, thanks guys :)
1) Ckort : I love the symplicity, geometric balance, depth, colour and sharpness. (The looking down one you did not enter took my breath away :) )
2) SSRacer: The art deco style, mix of shade and rich colour and the emphasis on the grandiousness make this a wonderful shot.
3) I can not pick between Mullhawk and Goincarcrazy, the Amish barn, my personal opinion of course, seems to need more contrast but not lose the detail in the shadows, and the light for the lighthouse to me was a tad soft, lessens the lighthouse's importance.
4) DonJuanMair: a little busy for my taste, I can see what you were aiming at.
And finally JustAl, an interesting shot, could do with to my mind again, a little more starkness on the building itself. I found the angle particularly with the sculptre in the foreground, interesting.
so my pick is Ckort

Wow thanks everyone!! I'm truly flattered, lol. These challenges are great for learning your camera. I feel I've come a long way since getting my camera last Dec. Thanks to everyone here.
So, with that said, I guess it's my turn to pick the next subject.
How does "Abstract" sound to everyone. Let your imagination run wild this time. I think it will be a lot of fun. Would be nice if we could get some more players to. Let me know what you think and thanks again!
