I took this picture in Essex CT. I saw geese just sitting there. I like the picture but I want to know if it is Good or Bad.

I think it is a nice picture...It might have been nicer if the other geese weren't so sharply in focus...but I am partial to picking out one object and isolating for the shot as you seem to have done with the bird in the middle of the frame...
What was the EXIF data on it?
Still trying to understand the game myself..
Cheers,

Good exposure, needs attention to composition. Looks like a "point and shoot" type of shot.
IMHO:
I think getting down to the level of the geese and shooting would have been good, along with DOF adjustment on the front bird. Or a tight shot of the front bird maybe?
Zooming out and capturing the flock as a whole may have worked as well.

It's a fine shot.
You might want a little tighter cropping on the one-footed bird. It's an interesting subject, and everything else is a distraction. Also, you might have benefitted from shooting it a slighty lower angle (closer to the ground).
Just remember, there is no universally accept standard for what constitutes a good photo. If there was, we'd all be taking the same picture. The most important test is whether you like it or not.
Keep up the good work.

to be honest, it's a fair shot of some birds with a dreary background. It's not the most exciting color scheme. Not much contrast at all. Sometimes when you take shots like this you have to really do lots of post production on it to make it pop. This one surely needs it in my opionion. I say more color saturation is a must. The composition isnt as good as it could have been. But, otherwise you are on the right track. Dont get me wrong, some photo oppurtunities wouldnt look any better with the best of the best taking the photograph.
