Just a few quick portraits. Took my 350D to college to try it with the flash heads we have.Critisism and comments welcomed.

Looks good to me. The color is very good. You did well with the lighting.

seems a little hot on the left side of the face. I agree with mills about the color, very nice. Only question I have, what's with the guy and the umbrella...typically thats a very feminine way to pose someone.

Agreed. The light seems too hard. Its casting shadows from the glasses. The bright side is too overpowering in my opinion, but I am a newbie so I am curious about others opinions.

Also, thats a reflector umbrella right? Why use it in the shot?

The guy posing is another student in my class. He just chose to hold the umbrella for whatever reason. These were never intended to be anything serious just trying out the 350 with the lights.

i like the one of the guy with the tip of his glasses in his mouth except his right side of his face seems a little bright. also i think cropping out some of the background would look better as well. for just playing around w/lights though.... they are pretty good :)

I do the same with lighting. Side lighting creates a more dramatic effect. I would try even diffused lighting on both sides.
