Help: metal clip CAME off my BG-E5; battery cassette no longer locking

Hi all!

I've been following the forum for quite some time since my discovery of dSLR this summer. I've enjoyed the community and the sharing that goes on around here! :)

SO... i was working with my camera today, and off came the metal clip to which the battery cassette locks onto. Needless to say, i'm in a state of shock, and probably in denial, and is pretty sad about it...

Question: is there anything i can do myself to fix it? Does it need to be send back for repair???
