I ordered the Canon UV lens for my 20d from BHphoto and when I called to check on the order they tried to upsell me to the B+W (39.99 Canon vs 79.99B+W).
Is it really worth it for the 24-70? I would think Canon makes a fine enough UV lens for it's lenses.
P.S. He said the Canon Polarizer was fine (not important enough to get the B+W)

I have nothing but Canon filters on my lenses and I think that they are just fine. I figure that any filter from a major manufacturer is going to be a very good product. You might want to have a look at other brands too like Nikon and Minolta (Konica-Minolta or whatver they're called this week).

Or don't use a filter at all. Keep your lens hood on for protection and only use a filter when there is a reason to (rainy or dusty conditions).
