So I really liked my F4-AF but sold it due to not fitting my needs.

I am now wanting to come back to a Domke.

I have looked at the reviews and having trouble understanding the differences. I know the one is a few inches taller.

The F3x is $102 and the F6 is $77.

I know neither will fit all the gear in my bag, but I'd like to be able to take 1-2 bodies and 2-3 lenses, will either of these be ok for 1D, 5D, 70-200 plus two small lenses and accessories?

I was inquring the same 2 bags from a seller not too long ago about fitting a 1D+24-70 and 70-200 and either a 135 or 17-40 and from what I've seen from the pics he sent (both bags), I don't think you can fit 2 cameras and 3 lenses with it. Or it's really really tight.

i believe both are the same length over all but F3x is taller and has side pockets(less main compartment).
i use F6 as a daily and can carry 2 prosumer bodies face down with primes or 16-35 sized zoom, i also have a 2 compartment divder or 1 pro body 16-35 attached and 1-2 lenses
since u had the F4-AF it meant to be used with pro body with 70-700 lens attached the F3x is smaller, again just one body with lens attached and 1 lens.
all these descriptions are for the main compartment.
F3x having 2 side pockets great for a flash or 2 and front open pouch for misc items.
F6 just one flash and maybe memory and a battery in the front pouch but zippered( which i personally like)

Thanks for mentioning this. I just read the description of the F4-AF. Since it was meant for a pro body, this might be what I need. I don't know why at the time it didn't fit my needs.

At the time I sold it, it was because I was upgrading from a gripped XTi to a gripped 30D. I can't remember if the 30D actually didn't fit or if I just read that it didn't.

Regardless, I have seen images where a 1D does fit. Looks like I'll be coming back to my old friend.

the f6 isn't tall enough for the 70-200L. i mean it'll fit but you'll have some pup tent action on the flap ;).

the f2 is the better choice.

Yes, if you want a couple of bodies, go with the F-2 or the F-4AF. If it weren't for the 1D, I'd suggest an F-802 or maybe F-803, but the base of the 1D models (like the grip on a "lesser" camera) will bulge out the front.
