I'm looking at buying the Tamron SP AF 17-35 f/2.8-4 Di and seeking input from present owners. Price is $559.00 Canadian, down from $799.00. I'll be packing in on my Canon 20D which I bought without lens.

Its a great lens Tom! Good sharpness all the way through with just a slight fall off possible at max (35mm). You must however be aware that this lens is NOT f2.8 all the way through. There are slight concerns regarding lens flare with the hood supplied. Other than that i love it:D

I just read an FM review of this lens by RDKirk, he states:
“BIG TIP: Get a Tokina BH-775 hood (originally for the Tokina 28-80mm f2.8 ATX Pro) for this lens. It bayonets onto this lens perfectly, and is the appropriate width and depth for this lens on an APS-C camera. B&H and Adorama carry it for $40.”
This is the link to the page that contains his review, it is quite in depth.
