Great shots all around. I don't care for the next gen Prius (it reminds me of the Subaru B9 Tribeca). I'm really hoping that GM can get through the next 24 months. I hope to be able to afford the Volt when it becomes available, though the Caddy Converj is a much sleeker looking electric. Great shot of that one BTW

I already daid this in another NAIAS thread, but that Caddy is beautiful. Bring it to the metal, GM!

IS250C, nice indeed.

Any tips for the auto show shots? Use an UWA and no flash?

Agreed, would love to know more about the lens you used as well...

I have to say that the ConverJ is a beautiful car...but it will never make it to the streets in GM's current condition. They're not going to invest the money into real niche cars. Cadillac is not their sports car department. Personally, if the retro cars had not been the deciding factor, I wish that the new Camaro. It has that real sports car/Lambo feel for the every day person.

Nice shots; I love the way that Converj looks; Did you have press creds? I'm wondering how you got such a good shot of the car it looks almost like you're on the platform!

Wow, thanks for all the compliments guys. Let me see if I can address the questions.

Press Creds - No, however I have had creds in the past (see portfolio). Just didn't work out this year. I attended on a public day (last Friday) and there were a lot less people there than weekend public days at shows I've been to in the past. This made it easier to get clean shots.

Rotating platforms can just take patience. If you wait long enough the car will come to you for just the right angle, and the crowd might move away (or closer) at the same moment to help. The presentors are paid to be friendly and accommodating, so don't hesitate to ask them if you want to get a photo with the doors closed or open.

Gear - I used an EF-S 10-22mm strapped to a Rebel XT for the event. I also had a 580 EX with Sto-fen and used it intermittently when I felt it necessary. Lighting is a little bit better on press days than public, but overall lighting in auto shows is better than you might expect. I was looking at interiors specifically for another assignment, so I came prepared with the flash, but if you're just going for a few memories of the concept cars, I wouldn't say that a flash is necessary.

Once again on the lens/exposure, it just takes some patience and experimenting with each display. Some - like the Converj - were a piece of cake. Others - like Tesla's display - are hopeless.

The Converj may not make it into production, but I still see a lot of the CTS Coupe in that car. The CTS Coupe was delayed for another year so you've got another year to save your money and buy one.

Please stay tuned for more photos from this show as soon as I can finish my next blog article on it.

Really great shots PurelySwift. I didn't go this year because I thought with all the manufacturers pulling out it would be a pretty dull show. I guess I was wrong.

+1 on the turntable shots. It's amazing even during a busy time that the crowds ebb and flow and shots just open up. Great composition on the Lexus. It looks like they had the same setup as last year's show.

Someone unplugged the Volt thought. :)
