It's mock trial season and I'll be spending a lot of time at the law school, where this atrium is a key feature:

Trippy, I like it, think this would be a good candidate for a square crop.

Very nice! Would even be a great picture with it full of people too I think.

Very nice! Would even be a great picture with it full of people too I think. Thanks! The lighting would be tricky for lots of people -- the atrium is 4 stories, and the lighting is very poor. I'm going to be shooting this a fair bit over the next few weeks though (I'm doing a 365-day project and coaching the mock trial team!) and will try it -- the movement on the stairs I think would be cool even if I can't stop the action.

Ha, very M.C. Escher. All geometric and mixing square and circular elements. Awesome continuous helical staircase. Cool capture, I like it.

I like the composition, but the bottom seems a bit soft. What aperture were you shooting at?

Sell it to Rutgers Law School PR ;)

as above....I like it too! very nice image. Is it possible to remove the hotspot on the Rutgers emblem on the floor?

Great capture, but the way I see it, definitely not a square crop. I like it just the way it is.

Sell it to Rutgers Law School PR ;)I'd love to - but we're a public law school. These days, we're lucky if the building is open and the heat is on! No PR budget for sure!

I like the composition, but the bottom seems a bit soft. What aperture were you shooting at?F6.3. If it's soft, it's more likely because I was hand-holding at 1/8.

I tried square -- didn't think it worked as well. But perhaps a better capture would be a better candidate. I'll keep trying!

Thanks!

Appreciate the comment!

Fabulous capture.

Thanks! It came out well, I think.

Thanks. I think I will try a square version, but not with this particular capture.

Wow, hand-holding at 1/8. That's impressive.

Wow, hand-holding at 1/8. That's impressive. It was mostly dumb. I left my tripod in the car. Fortunately, the XSi / 10-22 combo is very light!

Why not try an HDR next time? It's a cool subject nicely done.

Shouldn't that say:

It was mostly lazy. I left my tripod in the car. Fortunately, the XSi / 10-22 combo is very light!

;)

That's mostly me anyway lol

nicely shot - have you tried in B&W?

Long exposure with a blurred crowd of people going hither, thither and yon would reinforce the frenetic nature of Law School.

Great eye to find the symetry here. Love it...

Really really cool shot. I would prefer it with the 3 people and the plants cloned out though. Having no life in the image is a bit surreal as its seems the place should be crammed with people.

Book worthy!

Book worthy! Thanks much! I'll be at the law school this weekend and will try it without the people. (That shouldn't be hard on a Sunday morning!)
