I've got an old Excalibur 3200 Strobe and all of a sudden it's blowing fuses whenever the power is turned on.

There are two fuses, a 3 Amp and a 5 Amp. The 5 Amp fuse is the on that blowing out.

The power and modeling light will come on but the strobe won't fire. Power on, fuse out, just like that.

Any ideas, suggestions appreciated.

It's not one of my main lights but it's been a great backup and extra light when needed.

Sounds to me like it needs a service. That fuse is there for a reason...

In your defense, maybe I was too subtle. So, since you asked for suggestions - get it serviced! Better?

Writing as someone who has had very good luck with a used pair of these monolights, the guess is that something internally is charging and discharging when the units are turned on. Maybe the "dump" circuits aren't working properly?

Finally figured out where to get this repaired in case you ever need it.
About $140.00 with shipping to and from.

Were you asking WHERE to get it serviced? If so no wonder no one responded the way you expected. Asking the right question will get you much more useful answers.
