This is from last summer with my 10D using a 75-300mm lens.
Taken about 10 seconds before some kid ran up and screamed "AAAYYHHHH".
I'm mulling over entering this in a nature photo contest and wanted to get some initial opinions.

Very nice!
I have the 75-300mm as well, but I don't have things like that to take pictures of. Wish I did. :(

Very nice. Wondering if the butterfly generates much wake turbulence ? :-) :-). Definitely enter it.

Thanks for the kudos.
One thing I was wondering about is if the flower on the lower lefthand side was a distraction. Guess not. (So far!)

I might crop out the flower on the left

Now that you said something it does stand out.

Before you crop it out, try cloning it out. If that doesn't come out too nice, then take the easy route and crop it.

Very nice. I'd crop out the flower on the left, possibly make it a portrait oriented shot, and maybe brighten it up a little. I'm no expert at this, just my opinion.
Here's one of mine that is similar - also from last year. On the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Thanks for the replies.
I cropped the pic and added some saturation to it. I think I like this pic better!
TSORoanoke, nice shot!

Nice pics! I like the idea of cropping it too.

The last pic posted is better than the 1st. The flower at the lower left corner of the original needed to be cut out. Nice shot.
