Number 3 is my favorite. Cute Cat.

I second the number three. The first on has the focus on the nose, which means at 1.8 that not much else will be in focus.

With animal photography always, always get the eyes in focus. The nose and ears can be soft but without the eyes in focus the image loses so much. Thus the reason people are preferring #3.

The 50/1.8 is my weapon of choice for cats too but at 1.8 the DOF is pretty shallow making a head shot difficult.

I like #1 because with the focus on the nose, which is the closest thing to you, it looks like she's about to come out of the screen at you.
