i have missed this years pass of the iss. so ill have to try next time round,
but these where from last year.
I have been trying for 3 nights and with such clear sky's I dont think I've had such good views.
so I put the 40d and ed 80 scope on the tripod 600mm 2xtc 1/500 iso1600 http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif
manual focusing and following trying to get a sharp shot.
It wasnt untill I zoomed in on the play back that I cant say what came out of my mouth (lts just say it started with f.
Starting with the full frame and some big crops.

Nice job. Does it really only pass over the UK once a year? Did you check heavens-above.com for the passes?

Has anyone seen today's Astronomy Picture of the Day? Its the ISS passing in front of the moon. The transit time was 0.49 seconds.

Crikey, I saw this thread the other day, opened up the first page, but only noticed the first image. Wasn't until I bothered scrolling down just now that I saw the second and third images, and my jaw nearly hit my keyboard!!
I want to know how you can track it like this. I'm sure I've seen the ISS here in the UK, (here's a link (http://spaceflight1.nasa.gov/realdata/sightings/) to a site showing you all upcoming visible transits, and some last several minutes), but I'm also sure it was just a streak...how can you get such a clear image like that?

I can guess what came out of your mouth. I know what came out of mine. Fortunately, it came out as a hoarse whisper, 'cos there are ladies present.
That is awesome.
