i made an attempt at my 1st HDR shot using AEB with Photomatic 3.

It looks a little dark. If you were going to go that low / high in your shutter speed you should've taken a few in between and stacked 2 more shots. From what I understand the idea of HDR comes from starting at a single exposure; say 320. Then halving, and doubling that exposure. (Some people choose to go 1 stop too). So your speeds should've been 1/80 - 1/160 - 1/320 - 1/640 - 1/1250. Using that example would've given you a much nicer range of tones to work with.

It's not bad for a first try though. Maybe use a shallower depth of field also, it will give you some nice background blur and really make the flower pop. ;)

i used AEB -2, 0, +2. my XSI only allows me 3 shots, but i can obviously take additional shots manually. also forgot to mention, i mistakenly took these in jpeg rather than RAW.

Yeah thanx. You probably know my brother he had the 535 vishnu procede that was at the RPI dyno day.
