I have been messin around with some match pictures. I have this one picture from someone on here. I am always tryin to compete with it.
First off, who took this picture? If anybody knows.
Second how did you get it so colourful, I always get pictures with a ton of white in the middle, and a bit of orange around the side.
Any tips would be appreciated.

Try manual exposure so you can control it. Looks like he underexposed #1. Move the dark background farther away, too.

I know the first one is great, I was trying to get mine to look like it... But I cant find out who took it and how they took it.
So it's very frustrating.

LOL!!
He did not take that first one. That was a winner in a contest a while back. He is trying to get the same effect/look with his shots.

The first one was most likely done with a Macro lens.. looks like 1:1 to me.
So you need a lens, or set up your lenses to get you closer to the match.

wow i really love that first one, i think the exposure is just right so taht you can get some deeper colors then if you had exposed it more, and on the balck background (im guessing as much a product of short exposure time as anythign else?) makes everything really stand out
