Still up in the air wether I like strobed or not strobed. The new arena has some great lighting, ambient is 1000, 500 @2.8 or 1250 @640 2.8. Tonight I powered down the WL1600 to 1/4 power last night it gave me faster recycle time and also a faster t-1. Strobes are mounted in the rafters. Pics 1-3 are all strobed, ISO 400 250 f4. The remote was ISO 1250 500 2.8. I tried the 400 for a change it was a little long a 300 would be good for far end shots setting was 1250 640 2.8. As you can see the ambient light is pretty awesome.
As always thanks for looking C&C always welcomed.

Romeo, I really really really like the strobed stuff and at 1sec to instant recycle times, I'd use em always. The colors just sing. Looks like the WB might be a bit cool on a few (2 and 4 especially) but that's a minor crit and easy fix. I may use the 300 again tonight but find that I really don't use it as much as I'd think for NCAA and the downside is that its a PITA to lug around for just a few shots. The 400, well, obviously, its even worse.
Nice images man. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Scott, I did find that a few of the shots were really cold last night not quite sure why, like I said I turned down the strobes to 1/4 power. The 400 is a beast and to long, but I shot a couple of games last year on a loaner 300 and loved it.

sure thing. I find that by the time the games are done, I'm spent when I keep flipping back and forth. As I am sure you do with the 400, handholding alone gets tiring by the end of the game...even with the 300.

This is the remote setup minus 1 pocket wizard since I was not shooting the remote on strobes

Here is a shot from one side of the arena the red circles are my strobes and there are strobes directly across from each one them, all four strobes are tied together via zip line (18ga lamp cord around 500 feet) which come together at the yellow circle to one PW.

Scott, get one off those really light weight monopods that gets it low enough while you are sitting makes a big difference.
