----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome to the first of hopefully many C&C Competitions for the Rebel XSi/450D.

This is not a serious competition but is meant to be fun, please treat it as such.

These are the rules:

1. Camera - Must be a Rebel XSi/450D
2. Time - The photo must be taken after the competition has started.
3. Size - Please see the Image posting rules.
4. Post-Processing - do whatever you like and the host will decide if it works.
5. Posting - As many photos per photographer in each challenge. Because this is a C&C competition you can re-post an image after it has been C&C'd. Please include Photo Name in the message subject line. Lens used. Please post brief EXIF data including ISO, shutter speed and aperture used.
6. Commenting - There will be a winner for best comment so feel free to C&C.
7. Have FUN!

The competition will end on February 6, 2009 at 23:59 GMT and the judges decision is final.

The winning photographer then gets to chose the subject of the next competition and judge the entries.

Hello,
Well, here in New Orleans it has been chilly - low 40s in the night, mid 50s in the day, so the alligators in the nearby swamps are not stirring, and, for some reason (maybe too windy?) the pelicans and ducks are not on the lake behind my house. Thank goodness the reliable doves, who think it is Spring when the sun comes out, don't mind posing. It is a front yard picture, but, it is outdoors!

Kit lens 55-250
Shutter speed 1/1000
Av mode - f8 aperture
ISO 200
Auto WB
Shot in RAW and converted in Lightroom 2
Post processing in Photoshop
Focal length 250 mm

Good luck everyone...

A couple of Sanderlings. Apparently they only come down here for the winter so I'm happy I got some shots of them. The one closest is a fairly young one, probably born last spring so not even a year old where as the one in the background is a mature Sanderling.
