sample gallery - insight wanted

Hello,
Can anyone share their general impressions? Ignore the text, it's just placeholder. I'm just about ready to launch my site, but have hosted just one gallery to make sure my hosting is technically sound. How do these images appear on your screens? Any other comments or critique greatly appreciated. Please help me consider the following

I love the images. But the gallery software is really distracting -- the white background keeps resizing and resizing and resizing.

What is happening on your end? Does it look like a technical malfunction?It doesn't so much look like a malfunction as just an annoying function of the gallery software. First the white space opens, then the white space resizes to the image size, then the image appears. And this whole thing repeats for each image. Time-consuming and annoying.
