Hello, everyone;
I have been fairly happy with my new 1D mkII...most of my pics are very busy and filled with lots of detail, but I have recently started to do some landscapes too. That's where I noticed a "contrast stripe" near the right edge of the sensor.
The spring landscapes are very subdued and I often find myself spiking up the contrast...and that is when the stripe becomes really obvious.
I was wondering if anyone had a similar problem.
Thanks for your input.

This is a 100% crop of the phenomenon, to illustrate what I am talking about.

I have something similar with my previous 1DsMKII, sent it back to Canon. Canon told me that the lines were behind the filter.

Thanks....that kinda makes me feel a little better...
What did canon do for your 1dsmkII? Did they replace the sensor? How long did you have to wait?
Thanks for your input.

My case was extreme:
- Canon's tech try to void my warrenty in the first sight (he mentioned " I think you have cleaned the AA filter!!)
- After several hrs arguement, they can't find anything on the front of the filter.
- So they dismental the whole MKII and found fungus between the AA Filter and the sensor (the MKII was less than 2 weeks and less than hundred shots).
- Finally, another 2 days wait, Canon give me 2 options:
1. Clean up the filter and give it back to me.
2. Replace the MKII.
- After couple shots, I found a lot of tiny tiny dot with rings (these were caused by cleaning sensor with liquid that has residue) in my MKII. (Can believe Canon did a lousy cleaning job).
- So I pick the replacement, which is crystal.
- So you must firm and never back down.

Thanks for the info....
I can only hope that the canon a/s center here in Seoul, Korea will be more helpful and cooperative.
