Is that the colored pencil filter in PS? I've done that a few times for various races I've shot (Los Alamitos, Long Beach Grand Prix) and they always seem to give a little more life to the shots. I think its just one of those things that adds to the artistry, not so much the journalism that we so often get stuck on. Great idea, and beautiful execution.

I like the affect as well.

how about a tighter (admittedly non-standard) crop, so the dogs take up a larger portion of the shot. I like this shot best when I 'crop' it by scrolling my browser window so there are equal amounts of empty space above the last dog's head, and below the first dog's feet.

Thanks. It was angled strokes within the filter gallery CS4

I entertained your suggestion. Whats "funny" is that I almost always crop for composition and ignore standard aspect ratios. Did the original because someone requested it as a 11" x 14" print.

I agree. I'm not real big on a lot of the "enhancements" that can be done through PS, but this is subtle enough. Nice job on this one. Those dogs are wicked fast. We catch the races when we visit family in Jacksonville, FL.

Nice work, and do you have the original image available?
