I frequently visit this forum and really enjoy looking at all the gorgeous pictures...and feel rather intimidated to post anything :o

That...and photobucket hated my old computer...or my old computer hated Photobucket...or whatever.

But, I got a new laptop and have decided to post a few of my favorites of my family lately. Comments welcome!

I am also new at this and have not posted any of my photo's yet as I also feel a bit intimidated. I have learned a few things from this site though and can tell you that the first picture is very well captured and I do not see a problem with it. The second seems to be a scaned copy and the quality has taken a tol on it but it is a good idea. The third looks like the ISO was set to high giving you digital camera noise. The fourth is the same problem and the light was a bit to much.
I do feel that we get better with practice and I do think that you have the right idea it is just the settings you need to play with.
PS. welcome to POTN.

Shaun, thanks for the quick reply. The guitar picture was meant to have that sort of vintage look with an added texture but I can see that it is not really working when the photo is this large...and Photobucket seems to be adding it's own "texture/noise" to the pictures as they do not look that grainy straight out of my computer...hmmmm.

Here is the guitar shot with no texture added.

Still looks too grainy...what I am doing wrong as it does not look this way on my screen pre-Photobucket? Is it how I'm uploading it or something else?

(Thanks for your patience with a noob...new to photography and new to photo forums )

The guitar shot does look better without your added texture but you are right that it still does look grainy.
I do not think that it has anything to do with the way you are uploading the pictures and the fact that you say that it looks fine on your PC does seem a bit weird.
