To install the program in windows 7 32bit no problem. But in the 64bit version it can´t find my device. No digital signification. How to solve the problem?

Do not use the disc that came with it. Go to the website and download the updated software. I just did that for my Vista 64 bit and it works fine now.

Latest software for spyder2pro, 2.3.5 from februari 2007 for vista 64. That´s what I´m trying. Even run as for Vista and as admin. I can choose what profile I want, but I can´t calibrate. At the moment I using two OS, Vista 64 and Windows7 64. I have just picked the C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color\spyder2exp ress.icm from vista and replaced it in Windows7. But I want to calibrate.

I asked Colorvision today and they replayed this:

"Dear Peter,

thank you for submitting a ticket and your faith in Datacolor products.

Windows 7 is a beta version and has not been finally released. There are many known issues with this. Also Microsoft has not yet fully released the internal specifications to the developers.

Microsoft self call this "not for production use".

You can be sure, that we will provide a solution to this problem once the final version of Windows 7 will be released.

You may be able to force it to install the Vista 64-bit driver.

Tagging along on this thread.
I also have a Spyder 2 that I can't install in WIndows 7.
I've tried the vista signed 64 bit install from colorvision's website and it didn't work.
I can't use the vista solution linked above because I don't have vista 32 or 64.

I've also tried the new F8 and go into 'Allow non signed driver' mode and that didn't work either. Now I see the Colorvision reply above and I'm sad. :(

Update: I found on another forum that users of Win7 can install spyderexpress 2.3.6 and it will work on your system. Running 2.3.5, I was stuck detecting a sensor and had problems with the driver. But version 2.3.6 can be downloaded using the link below, or email me for a copy *(I'm burning it to disc to ensure I don't run across this problem again).

Spyder 2 will not install in a 64bit OS due to the digital signature issue (they never fixed it), but express will work. Spyder3 will work just fine as well.

There is a way to get spyder2 to install, but you need to restart in safe mode and do a debug install.

Urgh! Sorry to bump an old thread but I finally decided to build a new PC and make the jump to windows 7. So far this is the only piece of hardware I own thats giving me grief! But its an important one! So only Spyder2express 2.3.6 will run on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit? So the Pro version I spent money on is useless now? Good customer support DataColor! Now I have to buy a Spyder3?

I have run in the past Spyder 2 Express, and am currently running Spyder 2 Pro v2.3.5 on Windows 7 64bit.

Technology marches on...

A no cost solution is to use your existing Spyder2 puck with free open source calibration software.

A temporary solution is download and use the trial version of ColorEyes Display pro software.

Best solution is buy a brand new calibration kit. While colorimeters last a long time, they do age and you may need a new one anyway. And no need to restrict yourself to DataColor/Spyder products.
