I am using PhotoImpact Pro and like it alot. My question is there any advantage in using Photoshop Elements 3 compaired to the one that I am using now. I know alot of the photo editing software does the same general thing but am thinking of getting Elements 3 You can get it at Costco wich coupon for about $50 Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using a Canon G6 with Speedlite 420EX. I am not a pro but have been taking alot of pictures with great results and love it.
Thanks,
Jason

PhotoImpact is pretty good. I used to use the older version all the time until I converted to Photoshop two years ago. However, if you ever plan to shoot RAW or "graduate" to Photoshop, PS Elements 3 would be a good stepping stone to get you there as it does support direct RAW conversion and most of its interfaces are similar to Photoshop's.
I should warn you, though. If you've been spoiled by PhotoImpact's very user-friendly interface and features, it's going to be tough getting your feet wet with Photoshop and enduring the learning curve. But it'll really be worth it at the end if your goal is to eventually learn Photoshop CS or it's successor. :D

You can download a tryout version of Photoshop Elements (http://www.adobe.com/products/tryadobe/main.jsp#product=40) (which will work for a limited amount of time) and see for yourself if you like it more than your current software or not. (I hope you have a fast Internet connection, because it's a very large download....).

Thanks for the info! I am using Raw shooters essentials 2005 1.1.1 and works very well. Will PS Elements 3 do better? It would be nice to have just one program to do everything.
