Just curious, It's often mentioned that Live View is great for macro. I've wondered how many macro shooters are using Live View.

I'm learning to shoot macro. I use a 40D with a Sigma 150. I've been using Live View occasionally, esp. when I add a 50mm reverse-mount. The DOF becomes very shallow and I can zoom in and pan with LV to better control which part of the shot is in sharpest focus. This eats up battery power, so having a spare and/or grip helps.

Greg- think it might be ok for natural light or tripod shooting but found the delay that occurs when shooting handheld with flash (the mirror comes down and up again) to be too much of a problem.

Hi Brian, that pretty much echoes my thoughts. I found I kept getting too much camera movement between seeing the shot and it being taken when I tried to use LV.
