Yes sure is a lot of material in that thong.
I noticed this on the door of Lingerie shop in the Cotswolds, and the label was used to give the opening hours of that shop (silly me I thought a thong was open all hours). open sided anyway.

We actually have a shop, some of our range is period fashion and linen, we do audio visual shows and talks about period costume etc.
on one such talk a lady in audience after viewing a old fashion pair of open crotch bloomers,stated you could make about 200 thongs from the material in those bloomers
