OK, nevermind. They were bad shots anyway.
I'll figure Flickr out if it kills me.

I am new to this also, but i would like to comment.
Pic #1 - looks neat but lack of interest. the texture is great and would probably look interesting as a windows background/wallpaper.
Pic #2 - the size of the wagon vs the baseball is a little confusing. try and find items that work well together when shooting. A good crop could help with this also, along with a little fill lighting.
to post pictures off of flickr is really simple. Log into your flickr account a click on the picture you want to post. Then, on the top of the picture you will see lots of little icons. click on the "all sizes" icon. Then the picture will be displayed again, but bigger. scroll down to the bottom and you will see 2 options on how to link the photo to other websites. simply copy the text in option two and return here to post your picture. when writing a message you will notice a yellow icon just above you text with a mountain and moon/sun. click this icon and delete the http://.....then paste the url from option 2 on the flickr page.
hope that helps!!

Thanks Storm Driven...appreciate the comments. Composition was forsaken for technique in these shots. Just trying out the camera/lens combo.

I actually like the shot of the wagon and the baseball. Most people have a mental image of what size a "little red wagon" typically is and this really messes with one's sense of proportions...I like it. The little nits I have here is that the wagon appears to be a little softer focus than the baseball...my guess would be too shallow of DOF. Maybe open up your aperture a stop or two. Second there's just a little too much "space" in this shot, particularly in the foreground. I would have moved the ball a bit closer to the wagon and framed/cropped in a lot tighter.
The shot of the tree bark simply doesn't do anything for me. It's a texture shot that could maybe be used as a background for something else but that's really about it.
Just my $.02 worth,
Jim

the tree isn't as sharp as I'd expect it to be.

DOF is unfamiliar to me yet with this lens. I'll get the hang of it.

When I first read your post, I thought, must be good pain killers
But I went back to have a look, and
I can see faces too, lol

I can only see the wagon and ball. Is that a softball or a baseball?

Baseball. I'll put the tree shot back up just for the heck of it.
