Hi all
I am trying out linearSharpening on linear 16 bits TIFF from the D30. After trying the linear batch, the file is still 16 bits. I have to convert that to 8 bits in order to save as JPEG. Will i loose any quality doing that?
Is it possible to make a batch that convert and sharping TIFF's, convert to 8 bits, and then save it as jpg (100%).
I have also read something about AdobeRGB. I don't understand a thing.
Anyone???

Lars,
There's a big argument that goes round in circles about the advantages of 16- vs 8-bit. If you have finished your editing, then no you probably won't notice any difference.

Yes, I have produced my own variation of LinearSharpen that provides this as an option. See the link to LinearSharpenMenu from this page http://www.rogercavanagh.com/scripts/index.htm.
You can do it yourself, if you wish using File>Automate>Batch, if you understand how to create actions.

You are now talking about colour management and colour spaces. If you go to this page http://www.rogercavanagh.com/library/index.htm, there is a link called "Colour Management" that points you to some good reading. Be warned this can be pretty heavy going for the newcomer. :)
