I have just installed Photoshop CS4 extended onto my computer. I was running CS2 before and was having no problems with my mouse - it was working correctly. Since installing CS4 I am getting an intermittent problem with my mouse. It works normally for a while and then it just will not close anything down if I am trying to do so - although the cursor arrow still moves if I move the mouse - also if I am trying to open a folder up when it is malfunctioning it tends to open the folder below the one highlighted. The problem is not just happening in CS4. Sometimes the mouse will eventually start working again on its own - other times I have to pull the plug on the computer as I am just not able to do anything. I have tried a different mouse and I am still getting the same problem so it is not the mouse itself. I am running Vista Home. Can anyone suggest what the problem might be - or a fix for this? I have run a virus scan and it has come back clear.

Try restoring your computer to an earlier time. Then install photoshop.
I think the mouse driver may have gotten corrupted in the install photoshop process.

Some more details would be nice.

What spec is your computer, and what brand of mouse?
Was a self build, or off the shelf?

Kevin - I uninstalled CS4 and then did a system restore and then re-installed CS4 and so far everything seems to be okay. I used the computer for over and hour this afternoon without any problems so fingers crossed it is fixed. Thanks for your help.
