This is my first post. I'd like opinions about this photograph please. I'm trying to figure out if the way I like my images is good bad or in-between. You know how some people can't sing a note but they don't know it. I like my photographs but...........I don't want to fool myself about their quality.
Pull no punches, my feeling can't be hurt.
Attached is an example.
This little group of small flowers was in a canyon in the desert north of Phoenix, Az. I like the subtle lighting, and simpllicity (in a complex way).

Shot with a 20D with 50mm macro.
Natural light, slight overcast.

Nice first post and a very good picture. One thought might be to work with the depth of field to do something different with the front flower. I'm not sure if I would like to see it sharper or go the other way with only a little of one flower in focus. Those are fun things to try when you are not in too much of a hurry. Great effort.

I love this kind of photo, and yours is very good. Prime wildflower season in Arizona.

I agree with MarcoPolo about depth of field. Also consider a slightly different shooting angle. If you move the either to the right or the left, you could have had 2 flowers in the front row instead of just one, and then focused on the front row with the other 3 blurred.

I agree with the others about fiddling around with DOF but the lighting suits it well.
Keep up the good work, its lovely to see flowers from around the world.
