Hello,
I am about to acquire a Mac, I have only used PC's for all of my photo editng, will there be a huge learning curve for me, or do you think it's an easy transition working PS on a Mac.

Thanks!

Transition in OS will be more difficult in applications. PS is the same on both platforms.

Back in the old days Photoshop was ddeveloped specifically for an Apple Mac. Only later did Adobe develop it for windows. Reason being is most Graphic Artists run Apple Macs rather than Windows. Always ran faster on a mac until recently when its now becoming harder to detec which is faster because Apple changed to Intel chipsets. I run Photoshop on both and find my Mac has less crash's than my widows PC so you should have a good experience when you change. Just make sure you have sufficient ram . In regard to the GUI (graphic User Interface)....They are almost exactly the same in looks and function.

Well if you believe Wiki, Photoshop was first distributed for Apple, and two years later for the PC. and one year later for the SGI and Sun platforms. So they have been available for all platforms for comming up to 15 years.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Photoshop

Having developed software on all three platforms I'm venturing a guess that for the last 15 years it has been developed on the SUN platforms and ported to both the Mac and Windoes. The SUNs development environment and speed just smoke the other two platforms.

Maybe we have a Adobe developer who is also a photographer on POTN and can give the inside scoop.

Switching is pretty easy these days. Not too many 'essential' differences you need to know about right away to start using OSX.
