So I have done a lot of bridals & I've been a 2nd shooter once for another photographer. But this is our first official wedding we've done.

Hi, Eliza! Your work looks fantastic. I love the ring shots, but all are wonderful. I'm not too sure about the selective color one, but if the B&G love it, who am I? The last one is just wonderful. Congrats!

Thanks for your comments Suzy :) As always much appreciated!

Selective colouring is quite the 'in' thing for couples here by us. & like you say, if they like it/want it, we deliver :)

I think they are all very nice but #3 is my favorite ~ I would love to see something with the bride and groom both looking into the camera.

Nice work! LOVE the last one. :)
I would have loved to see more photos of the couple themselves, and personally...the selective color is not my cup-o-tea.

Great collection you've shown us. I particularly like #7, only thing that could have made it better (for me) is if the faces weren't blown out as much. The lighting really gives that photo the atmosphere I love, but I feel it's a little too much (if it could have been helped). :D Good work and good luck on getting more paid functions!

I would tell you that your photography is spectacular, but at least for my tastes (and I frequently stand alone on matters of taste), I'm not crazy about the processing. I do love the last shot, though it looks like it may be a bit askew.

Wow. Simply wow. And yes, I'm amazed that your photos are this good from your first ever wedding. So good job. Now, on to the nitpicking! ;)

#1 Nice shot. Clone out the picture on the wall behind the shoes should simplify the background and make a nicer image. (It's distracting)
#2 Not crazy about this one. There's so much detail in the door handles that it was hard to figure out there were rings there. Maybe a simpler thing to hang em on? Just looks like a photo of door handles. I was wondering why you shot this... :D
#3 is nice. And nicely done. Maybe not the most flattering of her, but a good shot! Nice conversion as well
#4 Um. Well. You know how most of us feel about SC. Not a fan. Cheesy, IMO But if they do? ok...
#5 Beautiful shot. Awesome BG. Flattering to the bride. Great image! (Portfolio)
#6 Nicely done.
#7 Competition print! Love it! Gorgeous, simple, Just great IMO.

Wonderful job overall! Hope some of these comments help! ;)

Great job on the detail shots. I would have liked a couple of pictures with more focus on the couple together - showing them interacting, etc. The shot by the door is lovely. Fantastic job for a first time!

great job for you first wedding. I'm not too sure about the selective color shot either, but maybe it looks better full resolution? I have been 2nd shooting at a few weddings and will be doing my first backyard wedding in April. I hope my shots come out half as good as yours did ;)

Once again, thanks to everyone for the crit and comments.

#2 Not crazy about this one. There's so much detail in the door handles that it was hard to figure out there were rings there. Maybe a simpler thing to hang em on? Just looks like a photo of door handles. I was wondering why you shot this... :D

I had roughly 20 minutes to shoot the rings, and I was seriously without options in the hotel room. The nature of the rings (four pieces in total -- unstable) precluded any book/Bible shots, something that I had planned for previously. So I was in a flat spin and ended up with only the one initially posted, and these below, for the client:

I like the flowers OOF in #5. Gives a feel of confetti thrown like at weddings. A real whispy feel to the photo.

I also like the floor in #7. Timeless shot there.

Ok, I take back what I said about the ring shot. It was definitely the best. You may be able to simply blur some of the handles in PS if you want to.

Great job! :D

I really like the rings on the door....lots of inferred meaning - at least to me.
