It's too bad we Americans call this beer. Most of it is nothing more than fermented rice water which obviously goes bad after a little aging, unlike real beer which gets more complex and intriguing as it ages. Many European beer gets better after 10 to 15 years, just like good wine. Rice is a main ingredient in American "Lite" beer, while it is illegal to use rice as an ingredient in Germany and other countries. Makes ya wonder.

I'm with ya Chazs. I think most American Beer is a joke, unless its a micro-brew or something. (not saying that I never enjoy an American Beer), but truth be spoken...its not REAL beer is it?

I agree that most mass-produced US beer is rather lame, but it isn't the only beer that can go bad with age. I've had some pretty nasty imported Warsteiner's that probably had gotten real warm and then cold a couple of times. I usually like it, but got hold of a bad batch. Unpasteurized beers can go sour if not treated properly.
Anyway, I tend to drink the weak stuff when I'm not going for flavor. Otherwise, I always pick up some of the products from the Great Lakes Brewery when I'm up in Cleveland. Good, flavorful stuff.

 You've heard the saying "American beer is like sex in a canoe? F...... near water
Saying that, I've liked Sam Adams for a while. Must be an import:lol:
Pete's Wicked Ale in the central northeast states is pretty good too.

I'm partial to really dark stouts. There's always a few Guinness in my fridge (although they don't last long.) The last time I had a clear-beer was about 6 years ago at a Mariners baseball game. Luckily half of it got spilled. If you like complex flavored beers give Arrogant Bastard a try. Even if you don't like beer the bottle is well worth reading. But don't get caught in the beer isle reading it. Hint, hint. Their website is pretty good as well.

Its rare for me to find a beer that I don't like. Of course, im not counting the extremely cheap american beers... I like Budweiser from time to time, and coor's has made some beers that aren't terrible.
But I tried some sierra nevada bigfoot ale the other day, its a barley-wine style thing. It looks pretty, but it is not quite my cup o tea. It is very sweet, and you can taste the alcohol in it 15.9%......leaves a really bitter aftertaste. But if your looking to achieve a beer buzz quickly......
Personally, id rather enjoy the taste of it at the same time.
