A little bit nippy today especially during the ten miutes of snow, but an interesting event with some great old cars. It was a bit like the wacky races at times, I don't know what was going on but so many people seemed to be confused by the layout that two cars bunching together was a fairly common sight.

Everything shot with a 20D and a 70-200 2.8 IS.

1. Complex / Hairpin with snow running down my back.

2. Early on in the morning, the curious look of the rear wheel caught my eye when reviewing shots on the PC. I didn't see this car again, so perhaps this was a factor in its retirement.

3. I'm developing an unhealthy interest in Volvos. It's not a very dynamic shot, but then it's not a very dynamic car!

4. During the lunchbreak someone decided to take off from the car park. I do hope he didn't disturb the neighbours.

No doubt I'll have another four shots tomorrow evening (host only allows four per day). All comments and criticism very welcome.

Indeed...although i suspect the idiots on 2 wheeled death traps hammering up & down the surrounding roads made more noise than the circuit activities today....

John, the Alpine suffered exhaust damage on one of the sections away from Croft - apparently the regs state they must withdraw although given the current situation there's no way they would have been allowed to compete at Croft anyway...let's just say it was a bit loud ;)

I like the Avenger most out of these. It's a battle getting the camera to focus on the car rather than the Snowflakes in those conditions.

6. Triumph TR 4

The first and last shots you've posted get my vote John. That Triumph looked like a real minter.

Yeah the Triumph was one of my favourite cars. The other being the Alpine Renault, but it only made the one appearance at Croft.

Nice shots John. No particular favourite good image quality on all shots. No4 - I thought that WAS the neighbours practising a bombing run!

Cheers guys, it was a good time. Quite relaxed for Croft, I could pretty much shoot from where I wanted. Not the most dynamic driving at times, but a good selection of interesting cars and at least some of the drivers were ringing their necks.

Did anyone else notice the private security and regular police patrols? Presumably this was all due to the neighbours and some threatening language on certain message boards.

It all seemed very strange, something of an over reaction given the scale of the event taking place.

They were probably expecting a mass protest...you know, from all those people on various message boards that claim to be Croft regulars. That's if you can stretch the definition of "regular" to the BTCC and BSB weekends....
