Firstly, thanks to Simon Harrison for getting me signed on for this one, thus allowing me access to 1 particularly nice section where i wouldn't otherwise have been.

Now for the gear info - All shots were on the 50D. 1 to 5 were with the ropey old Sigma 70-200 f2.8 EX DG, the others were with the cheap & nasty Sigma 500 f4.5 EX DG.

I thankyow for 'aving a look and welcome chat / comments / insults / cash / bananas as you see fit.

#1 is just superb Geoff. An absolute cracker. Glad the 'proper' snow held off until I got home.

Cheers,

Simon.

We've got a light dusting here at the moment but it's still coming down...thankfully i'm off tomorrow so won't have to deal with knackered heating systems :D

Did you manage to get the shots from Barton that weren't showing up on the preview?

I love that Alpine Renault shot a superb angle and the background is better than the usual Croft fences.

A great set Geoff, the first one has quite a strange effect in that my eye is drawn to the registration plate which with the water coming up behind it almost looks detached from the car.

I didn't know who had won, strange that its the no.5 car as I had a lady asking me for pictures of that car early on in the day (presumably family).

Cheers John.

I have to admit to a bit of cheating with 4 & 5. There were cones & barrier tape (eeewwww!) which have been spirited away by the magic of Adobe...sometimes you have to do these things eh? ;)

I deliberately picked #'1 because of the plate. The bottom-centre focus point has locked onto it very nicely and created that effect. I probably couldn't do it again if i tried :D

I haven't tried to run my sandisk recovery programme yet, but they weren't there when the card downloaded last night. My feeling is that for whatever reason they didn't write to the card . Very strange - I have never had that happen to me. I knew that it would be of the eventual winners, although I though it would have been the Escort crew that won, not the Midget. Hey ho - I have plenty of other photographs of them (still a bit pee'd off about it mind you.)

Cheers,

Simon.

Nice images Geoff, 1&5 for me. Made the morning stage at Croft which was entertaining especially with some of the navigation gaffs! Some nice cars on show and everyone seemed to be having a good time.
