This photograph is a few years old, it was taken with my Canon G2. That is the sweetest little thing, the one that got me back into photography. Still have it, still shoot it.

About the picture . . . places one should not be. I was waiting for a train to come through from the other side of the mountain. Up in the Bear River Canyon, the sounds echo and it is hard to tell if the train sound (and thus the train) is in front of you . . . or behind you. You should have seen my face when I heard the engineer throttle down the turbo charges as he slowed to enter the tunnel. I could have died. I was trapped inside with him. What is a fellow to do? Scream and say my last words, or shoot . . . well I shot. Me thinks this is a nice shot of the inside of a tunnel and the beautiful October foliage through the south entrance. Be careful around trains. They are very dangerous.

What places have you been in that you wished not?

You would not if you had to stand against the bat infested wall and listen to the squealing wheels of one hundred train cars go by. They have a greaser just up the track a little and it still sounds like a choir from heck . . . echos and rings. Oh, and I was hoping the load(s) were not dragging, at least on my side. LOL.

Even the old 4 megapixel can still take good shots, at least I think so. Thanks MDM for the kind comment.

Sounds like a scary experience !. Trapped in there with all that noise (echoing off the walls no doubt) and diesel fumes !. The picture was worth it though !

Great shot, RJS. Well worth the nasty environment to get that one! Well, it is for me since I'm here looking at it from behind my monitor. :)

In 1991, I found myself on a Minesweeper in the Persian Gulf. I really could've done without that.

Very cool shot of the train. Then again, I've come to expect very cool shots from you. Nicely done...
