We had some snow in the UK today and as usual it brought the entire country's infrastructure to its knees. My friend just called to say her kids have been sent home from school. Good job we don't live somewhere REALLY cold!
Anyway I walked to work this morning, thought I'd share some pics from my journey.

Jo, since you got those "walking to work", I'm gonna have to register my complaint. Those are too good to be getting "walking to work".
And, we have gotten on the news over here in "the colonies" that you are having like 16 years record snowfall. What's up with that? Are you personably causing a lot of snow so you can "walk to work" and take some very nice pics??:)?

Oh you wouldn't believe the personal suffering I went through for those images!
I live about 3 miles away from work so thought it would be nice to walk in... how wrong I was. I wore the wrong shoes so my legs were tired from all the extra effort it took to stop myself from falling over. By the time I'd arrived my feet were soaking, and then I had the horrible realisation that I'd have to walk home again when it was dark!
I drove in today. :lol::lol:

OK, so maybe you're having to suffer "for your art"...OK, I have flu for the past three days, and can't drag myself outside, so I feel the disconnect deeply, OK?

Jo, your photos are brilliant and beautiful. Really makes me miss Canada at this time of year. Thankfully, I'll be back in August and will be able to take my snow photos again. :) What sort of camera did you use for these?

This is the North Downs about 30 miles south of London - usually a lovely area of rolling hills, meadows and woodland.

I love the last picture. Very rich colors compared to what I am able to do here in Midwest US. Everything in the winter is gray and harsh. Even sunsets are ugly, very beautiful snow pictures

Hi Chris,
I used Photomatix on a couple of them to try to get some life back into the sky. They were all shot in RAW mode which helped a lot as the first couple I took that day I forgot to correct for the exposure and they came out a murky grey colour :)

Well whatever you did they look very nice! :)
Ill have to have a play with some of my shots in photomatrix to see if i can get anything like that. :)
