It is a little sad that so much creativity is not being used constructively. Being female, I think the small amount of normal makeup is a hassle some days. no way would I want to have to go through that. :)

The second girl isn't too bad. The first and third. Well, a bit too OTT for me. I do remember a couple of Swedish girls I met in London. They had really cool makeup (pink), even glitter, false lashes etc, but the main thing were their wigs. Absolutely great wigs. They used to come into Trocadero where I worked. You sure noticed them, but their makeup was more "wow, I wish I could do that!" instead of "omg, I'm happy I don't look like that after doing my makeup!".

this is a small part of tokyo where lots of trendy teenagers hang out at. it gets very busy- usually on sundays and teenagers dress like these. its just a fashionable thing to do for that day. considering that japanese people live a very structured and strict life at home and school.
anyway, aside from that..

talk about an individualistic approach to style... i like the fact that they're unique, but i think their ways of going out to get attention is almost bizarre to a certain extent. the second one would be really pretty if she didnt have the blonde hair. asians (that'd be me) dont look good with crazy blonde hair like that. cant tell if that's a wig or a crappy dye job, but either way it'd have a nasty texture and (assuming i was a lesbian) i couldnt date a girl with hair that felt nasty... let alone the other two with that crazy make up. also not a big fan of piercings. :(

Yes they are Harajaku girls. For those outside tokyo/Japan, Harajaku is a local area with a huge garden & thse kinda girls (lately guys too) can be seen there in great numbers in summer weekends, especially Saturday.
Now I dont know what their agenda is, why they want to dress up like this, but from whatever I have heard - they have some kind of dissatisfaction & want to get attention.

I wonder how much time they spend on this makeup. Painting your whole body with pink or wearing a red contact lens whole day must be a pain. Same amount of efforts constructively shud render better results but then - these ppl must have thei own secreat agenda :-)

Actully they seem to hate pro's. There were few profesionals there but girls were not posing for them. They agreed to pose for me but after a few shots they seemed getting upset & when I saw back all pro'd were taking shots too. I felt bad for the girls & left, thats why I have so few shots of them.

I expected they would be repulsive staright away to some & intresting to others (on a shot term basis though :)) I have the same contrast in my family. I find these girls interesting to look at & shoot. I wont want to date them or I wont fancy myself or my kids in that costume (i dont have any kids btw:)) But looking at them is OK.
On the other hand, my wife is very much disgusted at the first sight of them. She dosent thinks this is creativity at all.
