Just got my 50mm 1.8... (working to not use auto features at all these days). Natural light from window.

This is my 13 yr old daughter... where have the years gone? :(

there are so many things to like about this image. The lighting is very pleasing. there is god eye contact, expression is good. exposure is dead one. skin tones are good. I think you can tighten the crop a little bit on top. Oh yeah, great subject also.

Thanks for the feedback...
I am really new at this. If you consider the feedback on my early picture posts, I must be learning something here. Thanks POTN folks for helping me improve at my new found hobby.
Thanks again

Very nice photo. You seem to have mastered the "fifty".

I agree, you are showing improvement. I had that 50mm lens for a while. It does a nice job.

I am at work and therefore cannot read the EXIF file, but it seems that you have a relatively shallow DOF. The eyes are not very centrally focused, and maybe a pet peeve - but I prefer to really get the sharpest focus there. However, that allows the "dreamy" quality which makes the special effect of the picture. The colors really are nice and I, too appreciate the lighting.

I love my nifty fifty. She sure has amazing brown eyes I bet if you messed around in photoshop you could really get them to pop ;). Great Job!

Thanks for the nice words. I have just purchased PS Elements 7... not sure how to focus on just the eyes to get them to pop. I will read some tutorials to see what I can figure out.
POTN members rock!

Use the center focus point only - focus on the eyes -press the shutter halfway to lock, and then recompose your shot if needed.
