Hey guys, the Fedex guy came early and boy was I happy. I will be posting my observations and review in this thread in the next couple of weeks. But for now, I will just post some teasers, because I have to be off to work.

Your right hand should be on the grip with your index finger on the shutter button with your middle, ring and pinky fingers below it and your left hand should cradle the lens not the camera body.

Yup, jbradc's right. You wouldn't want to be holding your camera like that with a 100-400 or the 70-200 lens attached to it.

What handstrap is that? I want one. I dont really hang my camera around my neck... and wrapping the neck strap around my hand is getting cumbersome.

Nice flash, btw

Got the handstrap from Adorama. B&H didn't carry it. Just a standard Canon handstrap for the 1d body I believe.

Flash so far is easy to use with my Rebel and fun. Can't wait 'till I really master it.

Kool, but I do hope everyone realizes that I was holding the camera odd cuz I wanted to show it off.

Love that girl picture. For some reason it reminds me of how I feel after eating at taco bell.

Well, that's good to know, by the way all the writing on your Rebel is backwards ;)

Fatrat, that is a Omni-bouce. it doesnt come w/ flash. You can get it at adorama.com

Do our sister's know each other? I know this one is a bit blurry, before I figured out my lens sweet spot.

One thing I found with the OmniBounce is that it's best when use pointing up or to the side at a ceiling or wall.. I think that is the idea behind it, it directs light forward...but also out the sides so you get good bounce and some light directly forward for some more direct lighting (but most of it will bounce). Also, shooting raw to correct the whitebalance is also a good thing. I find when bouncing the flash you can pick up allot of other light from situation to situation.

toddb, I read it is best pointing up at 45 degree angle. I wonder......

No, that's actually the Digital Rebel 300L, the left-handed model. Didn't your shop have them?
