Born a week ago, this was our "first visit". I got lots of shots and she was very co-operative except for when we stripped her off for her bath!
This was probably my favourite - I think I prefer the color one.

Congrats on the new grandbaby -- she's gorgeous. Love the first one and agree with your choice of color over B&W.

Thanks for the kind words. I think the high ISO here made my normal BW conversions not quite right. Can't quite put my finger on it.

Congrats Susan. I am partial to the color version. The B&W does show a bit of grain. Beautiful baby. :-)

Thanks everyone.
Carley, I used your BW action but I often find they seem darker and more contrasty than your conversions. I usually use a medium contrast in LR2 then CS3 for BW conversions.
As for me in my avatar, yes taken 12 months ago at Xmas and yes I am probably a reasonably young grandma for this day and age but I had my kids young and the eldest is following with three kids at 29. Here is a photo of me with Steffi - sorry blown out but my PP is not the greatest.

Congratulations I remember how excited we were to become first time grandparents (5 years ago). Sadly my photography skills were very limited back then, but I have been making up for it, now grandkids (3) tend to expect to always see their Nana with camera in hand.

Congrats and I love the first two images, both versions--they're wonderful! My grandson (one year old) has easily replaced my pets as my preferred subject :D
You look stunning in the photo with your new granddaughter, by the way!

I actually have a grandson turning one next weekend...he's been my "practice subject" for the past year! Newborn shoot yesterday went pretty good for my first try, although exhausting! I hauled a car full of stuff over there, and only had the chance to use about 1/3 of it. We did get some shots that both my daughter and I are thrilled with though...just can't stop thinking about all the ones I didn't get :(
