I am trying to decide between the Bogen/Manfrotto 3021 Tripod Legs and the Giottos MT9170 Tripod Legs. It will be used with a decent ballhead (probably the Bogen/Manfrotto 488RC2 ball head) to support a drebel and a sigma 50-500 and/or a sigma 70-200 f/2.8. Which set of legs would you reccommend?
Thanks.

I have the Manfrotto 055 PRO B (the same as the Bogen/Manfrotto 3021 B PRO in the USA) and the 488 RC2 head and it's a very nice tripod. The 3021 + 488 RC2 can easily hold your Digital Rebel with a big lens steady. One nice thing I like about it is that it's possible to take out the center column and place it horizontally, and the legs can also be placed almost horizontally, so that it's possible to get the camera quite close to the ground. That's good for macro photos of small objects on the ground. Note that there are different 3021 models; the 3021 PRO can do this, but I don't know about other variants of the 3021.
I don't know about the Giottos MT9170.

If I'm not mistaken, the 3021Pro legs add the leg warmers on two legs, otherwise they are the same.

3021 does not have the center column that goes horizontal..
Only the 3021 Pro and the 3001 pro have this feature.

Yeah, I noticed that on my 3021BPro legs . . . why only 2 legwarmers?
