printing problem with IP5000

I've just purchased the PIXMA IP5000 and when printing an A4 picture using Canon paper I'm getting a 1 inch faded band down one side of the final print. When I rotated the picture and printed it again the faded band was now on the opposite side. I've also taken the software off the computer and re-installed it and still no difference. Getting very frustated now. Can anyone help me please?

Hi Tim,

May be your printer. I've printed to A4 with my new IP5000 a few times now and I've not had any problems.

May come to nothing but have you tried aligning the print heads again and cleaning/deep cleaning. If you try those maintenance options and still have the same problem, I'd take it back and ask them to swap it out for a new model.
