By the look of the exhaust, the engine is a Pratt and Whitney PT-6, but I cannot say what airplane that is. Looks nice though. The shots are great as always.

Very nice! The one you weren't sure of looks to be a Lancair IV P / Propjet. Most likely has a Walter (PT6 Replica) turbine engine on it. Fun airplane if it flies anything like the piston version..

Thanks. Glad folks like 'em! :)

I was thinking Lancair but the PT-6 threw me. Helluva conversion...
Appreciate your taking the time!

Number 2 and 4 are especially sweet. Very nice shots. You always seem to get everything so nice and sharp. And perfectly exposed. I would take that shot and the darks would be too dark, or the lights would be blown.
Love the propellar action on 4.

I've flown the 4P with a continental IOF-550 strapped on the front. Thing climbed like a rocket ship. Can only imagine with the turbine on it. Lancair has a new one in the works that i saw at reno this year. Should be an interesting airplane..

Thanks Ursie... It's an addiction on my part. ;)

I bet the P/W ratio lets that thing just sip Jet-A. It's probably a very economical way to fly (economical being a relative term, of course...)

Post #47 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=5191658&postcount=47)
Click the "Thread: Need an exposure crutch?" link at the top-right if you'd like more info on exposure.

Yah, I do all this, but I'm never very happy with what I end up with. I'm missing something, but just not sure what that is. I read "Understanding Exposure" twice. I still stink at it. Practicing though. Keep practicing. Some turn out good, but tricky lighting gets me every time. Thanks for the post, I'll read it more thoroughly now.

Aw c'mon Frank... Now everyone will know! Nah! Nobody bothers to read them. Your secret is safe! ;)
BTW, love the L-19. I've had a few wild rides in them!

 Thanks...
I think it may actually be a Cub Crafters "Cub" and not an original but either way, that would make it an L-4 I think...
Wasn't the L-19 built later and derived from the Cessna 170?

Wasn't the L-19 built later and derived from the Cessna 170? I bow to your better knowledge. My experience with them was in the mid '60s, hanging on in the back seat. ;)

Seriously, you two need to grab a beer.
Nice set Jay...I haven't the slightest clue about planes, but, you guys teach us so much, so thanks for that. I'm an avid watcher...and probably one of the 'few' that reads Franks' tutorials. ;)

Best chance is between the middle of July through the end of September. Then the end of October to the end of January.
Othwerwise, I'm off doing NASCAR or MLB Playoffs... (Subject to change)
