Hi all,

Taken at the NSW Speedblitz Blues v's Tasmanian Tigers cricket match played at Newcastle's No. 1 Sportsground last Sunday.

Can anyone see the irony?

[Admittedly, you'd need to be Australian to probably get it :D]

Shot with the 40D + 70-200mm f/4.0 L USM IS + Canon EF 1.4x II Extender
1/800 sec, f/5.6, ISO 100 @ 280mm

Nice shot mate. I was planning on getting down to some local cricket on Saturday with my 70-200mm but I don't have an extender so there'll be some cropping I think!

That is a gem.
For those who don't get it, look at the billboard in the background, she thinks the bowler's only got a little weener.
JD, great timing.
I'd like to know if you planned that shot or if you just jagged it - now be honest...haha
Either way it's still a classic
BTW, who's the bowler and who's the bat.
Regards
Phil

Great capture! Love it! I don't understand the game, but i love this shot!Thankyou. Don't understand cricket! It probably would look a little confusing to "foreigners" :D. Have a look here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cricket).

Nice shot.Well done leitch. The irony of course is that the NSW Speedblitz Blues are sponsored by the RTA [Roads & Traffic Authority] and this sponsorship is "an ongoing campaign to raise awareness about the consequences of speeding, and to change attitudes towards speeding, particularly among young male drivers – who remain the most at-risk group on the roads"

That is a gem.

PhilThanks Phil. I won't lie. I didn't see the billboard in the background until I processed the photo.

Here are the NSW team supporting the "Speed Kills" message [which is great of course!] and their bowlers are trying to "kill" the opposition by bowling short and probably around 140km/h mark!

The bowler is Mark Cameron [NSW] and the batsmen is Tim Macdonald [TAS]

cheers,
J&D

Well the bowler clearly had his weetabix that morning (as per the stumps)
