Just my weekly update in an up and down season for the Vikes. Coming off three tough road losses, the Vikes bounced back with wins over Detroit (66-49) and Wright St. (59-50). Anyway, here's a few from the Detroit game, enjoy.

I like the look on the bench warmers face in #8. Besides the toes missing, solid shots all around. Is there any more space around #7 ? I'd like to see
how high he is off the floor.

Grood job Scott,

John

Grood job Scott,

Johnthanks John. On 2, the toes fell prey to the limits of using a 300mm fl for hoops. On 5, that's just poor composition by me. He was charging and even thought the 70-200 is supposed to be parfocal, I was more concerned with getting a sharp shot than zooming quickly and it looks like my timing was a split second or so off. 7 was shot tight but there was a little more room (very little) and it added no real perspective to the height but did add some dead space behind at all crop factors so I wound up with what you see.

The faces from the bench are pretty funny, kinda like in 3 where the chasers just look like they are at their wits end with the Vikes.

Thanks as always for the comments bud. Too bad about those Cardinals, huh?

Nice work.

I actually attended Detroit Mercy for one year (before they merged with UofD)

Thanks guys. I agree on the mouthguard (see the first shot of him as well). He never has it in so go figure. I think the Vikes thought they'd just walk Detroit but it wa a tight game through the first half and Detroit never really let up. Much better team than the score indicated for sure.

I really like the shots of the guys flying hair in 4 and 8...he's their star forward and yeah, that's some whacked hair he's workin (spoken in jealousy as I'd do that in a second if I could pull it off...which I can't)

Patient of mine for years (all his life) is now playing HS BB here, very agressive young man, hit the floor teeth first last month and I got to rebuild them...(I love doing that BTW) anyway, I made a mouth gaurd for him cuz they cant offord one out of pocket. Next game while I was shooting I noticed everyone was wearing a mouth gaurd, all over the counter ones (like the one in your pictures) and not one of them was "wearing" it, just holding it out of their mouth and trying to breath through it... Wont be long and they will all come in and get ones that actually fit, I hope not for money but for their games sake...lol

There's no explaining it to them since I tend to believe the men (especially those in their teens when knowledge is at its zenith :rolleyes:) learn experientially, usually at a cost.

Nice set. I also blame my cutting off of toes on my lens. Kidding you Scott. #5 is pretty cool. Man I'm not sure if my 70-200 even fits on my body anymore. I haven't even twisted it on it 4 or 5 months. How many games do you have left?

Got three homers over the next two weeks and the Horizon League Tournament...from there I can only hope we sneak into NIT or NCAA's (really need to win the HL Tourney) but the team has been a bit inconsistent so I'm not sure.

With some luck, we'll have enough left to get me to soccer season and back outside. The City Star moved up to USL-1 this season so I'm anxious to see the better talent. Might even do a road trip with the team if the schedule permits (kind of ocumentary style). BTW, its 4 right now (yeah Fahrenheit!) and who knows with wind chill. About 2.5' (yeah, feet) on the ground. Are you ever going to invite me to come spend some time at your house or do I need to invite myself??:lol:

I'll drop ya a note about what's coming up. Peace.

That is why I posted the shot. An interesting perspective to see the action from different angles. I will send you the shot and you can re-post it so everyone can see how different positions effect the emotion, lighting and composition of images.
