View Full Version : Should I pick up a PowerShot SX1

Well I am heading to Europe at the end of the month. Have thought of getting the PowerShot SX1. I currently have a Canon G9 as my P&S and this would be in addition to it. Thoughts?

I just bought the American version, SX10 and would have bought the SX1 if it had been available here, mostly for the HD video ability.

I am in love with my SX10 IS. I think that the added speed of the sensor on the SX1 IS would just make me giggle. If the SX1 IS were available here, the added price may have kept me with the SX10 IS, but that is just cheap, retired me.

When i had the choice between SX10 & SX1, the added speed, CMOS and HD which will cost me almost 50% more, just turned me off.

Hence I took the SX10.

Saved the cash for some of my (to be) vacations.

PS: I am unsure about HD videos. if editing them does requires a more powerful laptop and that each clip is restricted to certain size or minutes only. Plus sharing such clip (file size) on Youtube, Facebook etc may be an issue also.
