I just moved to my new PC, and I want to restore my custom brushes if at all possible. Does anyone know where they're stored? I have a complete backup of my old machine so it's easy to get whatever files I need back.

I don't have any custom brushes, but I did find where the brushes are stored. Click on My computer, c drive, then program files, adobe, photoshop cs, presets, adn brushes.
hope that helps

On my XP PC this information for Photoshop 7 is stored at:
C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USER_NAME\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\7.0\Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Settings
If you restore this entire directory, you should get all of your custom settings back.

I looked there first, but all the files in that directory have last modified timestamps of some time in 2003. Am I missing something?

They're modified timestamps.
I found them, they were in
C:\Documents and Settings\Tim\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\8.0\Adobe Photoshop CS Settings\brushes.psp
Thanks grandad35 :)

Tim,
You're welcome.
The other directories have the shared defaults. This directory has (AFAIK) all of your custom settings, tools, actions, etc. By storing your personal settings under your name, PS allows each user to have their own custom configuration, independent of any other user.
