what is the typical price for a used 50D body nowadays?

Get ready for a mini-rant!

I like to search the forum for what I'm buying or selling to get an idea of what an item is going for used. What annoys the hell out of me is that people sell the item and edit their post to say "$SOLD" instead of "$900". I really wish people would stop doing this.

Anyways, looking at the past 5 sales I could find, they went for $960, $900, $950, $1000 & $990.

hehehe...you're not the first that complain about that issue. :) However, there are many people try to search the old price and use that price to demand seller to sell to them at that 'lowest" price. Sometime, some member do a quick fire sale or in "desperate" for money so they're willing to take a hit on it while other just try to sell at "fair market" price.

are you willing to pay more for a 40d with a 4 year warranty from bestbuy (now one year old)? that covers accidental damage and everything?

Let me put it this way:

I can buy a refurbished 40D from Adorama for $700. I'm looking to spend less than that.

Search titles for "40D" in the sell forum. There are quite a few that sold for under $700.
