I was asked to shoot a couple of head shots this afternoon for the tennis team. Cloudless day and I was shooting in the shade - no problem.
After taking the first shot, I check LCD monitor to see what the results would be. Totally way way off. So bad I could not see the person's face. I rechecked my setting (I was shooting on manual - no flash, 100 ISO) and was using my 70-200 2.8 IS. On a scale of 1 to 100, these simple head shots were a minus 50.
Panic time. I was shooting in raw/jpg mode also. One more time I rechecked everything - BINGO. My white balance was still set for the basketball gym and not sunlight or AWB. Change the setting and my pulse came back to normal.
Just shows how one little thing you forget can cause a panic attack.
