Hi, here are some bee shots I took at Hort Park, Singapore yesterday:

They were taken with the 100mm 2.8 macro with flash fired from the 430EX. I had to do a little cropping, the actual size of the bee is about my little fingernail.

C&C welcome, thanks for viewing :)

Well done!

I miss Singapore! When I was there in the late 80s they had a Japanese garden -is that where you took your bee photos?

I took these photos in Hort Park, a newly opened national park:

I think the government has stepped up efforts to plant flowers everywhere, even in public housing estates. This is a perfect playground for us! :D

I shot the pictures at ISO 400, 1/80s and f6.3. No noise reduction added.

if you use a flash your be able to freeze motion better.very important using a flash when shooting bees..they move so fast its almost inposiball to get a sharp shot of them with out using a flash.using a flash also means you can have use a lower iso:)

Thanks for the advice, I was using a flash, also to help with the focussing. I shot this at 1/125s and thats probably too slow. Wonder if the aperture i sused(f5.6) was still too big. Only one way to find out... :)

Yeah, I think its adequate for what I shoot now. Shot this spider at 1:1 yesterday(I cropped a bit for the first three bee pics ) @ ISO 400, 1/80s, f8 with flash fired.
